Goal
Family Reunification & Community Connection
Our ultimate goal is family reunification wherever it is safe and possible.
We work closely with families, Nations, and community agencies to strengthen natural supports and rebuild relationships.
Each child’s care plan includes opportunities to connect with family, cultural leaders, and community members — fostering continuity, belonging, and long-term stability.
At Care Nest, healing is not just about safety; it is about reconnection — to self, to family, to culture, and to community.
Our Story
Care Nest Group Home Ltd. was founded with one goal in mind — to provide a safe, family-like environment where children and youth can heal, grow, and thrive. We believe that every child deserves a home that nurtures not just their physical needs, but also their emotional, cultural, and spiritual well-being.
Clinical Leadership
Our program is led by a Medical Doctor with extensive experience in trauma and addictions counselling. This unique combination of medical insight and therapeutic expertise ensures that every aspect of care at Care Nest is grounded in evidence-based practice, compassion, and holistic understanding. Under this leadership, our staff are trained to respond to trauma with empathy, to manage behavioural health with skill, and to prioritize safety, regulation, and recovery in every interaction.
Our Approach
We blend trauma-informed care, clinical counselling, and cultural healing to create a balanced environment where children and youth can rebuild trust and rediscover hope. Through collaboration with Elders, cultural teachers, and community partners, we integrate traditional knowledge with modern therapeutic practice — ensuring care that respects identity, heritage, and dignity.

Our Services
Culturally Grounded Programming
Care Nest is committed to honouring and incorporating Indigenous culture, traditions, and values into daily life.
Children are supported to reconnect with their roots through:
Regular participation in Elder Circles and cultural gatherings
Attendance at community events and ceremonies
Opportunities for drumming, storytelling, traditional crafts, and land-based teachings
These experiences strengthen each child’s sense of belonging, identity, and connection to their Nation and the land.
Our approach is guided by respect, collaboration, and the belief that cultural connection is an essential part of healing.
Trauma-Informed Counselling & Clinical Support
Emotional healing is at the heart of everything we do.
Our team provides ongoing counselling and therapy, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based methods to help children develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and positive coping skills.
Under the direction of a Medical Doctor experienced in trauma and addictions counselling, our program combines professional clinical care with compassionate support — ensuring that every child receives the tools and guidance they need to move forward from past challenges.
